DESCRIPTION:About Thomas:\nThomas “Tom” DeLuca works for American Express in New York as Vice President\, Multicurrency (MCCY) and Payments Products. In this role\, Tom is responsible for driving the strategic agenda for AXP’s multicurrency\, cross-border and faster payments products while developing better payment options and solutions for merchants and acquiring partners. \nPreviously\, Tom was Global POS Lending Tribe Lead at ING Bank N.V. in Amsterdam\, where he led the bank’s Point of Sale Lending and Buy-Now-Pay-Later (BNPL) business. An accomplished fintech executive and payments professional with more than 25 years industry experience\, Thomas was co-founder of several successful fintech start-ups\, including AMP Credit Technologies in Hong Kong and London (and one of the first tenants of L39!)\, which specialized in digitization of SME loan origination and servicing across Europe and Asia\, and Planet Payment Inc.\, a New York-based payment processor and merchant acquirer taken public on NASDAQ and since acquired by Advent International. He also serves as advisory board member of the IFC’s SME Finance Forum\, which focuses on global access to finance for micro and small businesses. \nThomas received his B.A.\, M.B.A.\, and Juris Doctor (J.D.) from St. Johns University and his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Trade and Business Transactions from Fordham University in New York. \nAbout MentorHours: \nMentorHours are exclusively for Level39 members.
