Growing and Learning at Level39: My Apprenticeship Journey 💡

In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week, which took place in February, I thought it could be interesting to share my own story, and my personal apprenticeship journey.

During my final year of Sixth Form I began exploring options for my next steps. Although the idea of going to university appealed to me, I knew I wanted to aim for an apprenticeship. Knowing that this route would not only allow me to gain hands-on experience in the working environment, but also allow me to further my education, pushed me forward in my search for my perfect apprenticeship position.

In September 2024, I began an incredible journey as a Membership and Ecosystem Apprentice at Level39, and it has been nothing short of rewarding. Level39 is a leading tech innovation hub based in Canary Wharf, supporting startups and scale-ups innovating in fintech, cyber security, AI and more.

Since joining, I have been provided with exciting opportunities to grow and contribute across various areas of the business, such as marketing, events and membership & ecosystem.

Being part of such a dynamic team has allowed me to gain hands-on experience and develop a wide range of skills that will help shape my career. The variety of projects I have been involved with have been highly valuable, giving me the opportunity to learn so much about Level39 as a business and how it operates behind-the-scenes.

Working at Level39 has allowed me to develop key skills. I have had the amazing opportunity to help lead and manage our on-demand flexible workspace sites, which introduces us to external customers. Doing this has allowed me to develop my customer service skills and identify how to best optimise Level39’s profile on these sites to appeal to a wide range of individuals. This has also encouraged me to set personal development goals which I am constantly striving to reach.

I have also had the opportunity to develop my innovation and creativity skills. At Level39 we pride ourselves on our ability to provide curated events for our members and wider ecosystem. I have been involved in exciting discussions of planning and organising a variety of events, such as workshops and networking sessions, which have been designed to convene and connect our technology community.

One of the highlights of my apprenticeship has been the amazing and continuous support I’ve received from my line manager, Amy. She has not only guided me through each task I have pursued but also is encouraging of me to pursue further education. As I approach the end of my college course, I’m now looking into the possibility of enrolling in a degree-level course, which will allow me to continue to further my education whilst simultaneously developing my career.

Another highlight of my apprenticeship at Level39 has been meeting new people and building strong relationships with my team. Transitioning straight from sixth form to the working world felt daunting, but the support I have received from my team has made it easy to adapt and adjust in a completely new environment.

I’m really excited about the future, and I can’t wait to keep growing both professionally and personally. I’m truly grateful for the opportunities that Level39 has provided, and I look forward to continuing this journey, furthering my education, and moving forward as part of a brilliant team at a brilliant company.
